World Mental Health Day

10th October 2022 is World Mental Health Day! This day is recognised every year by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

This years focus is to ‘Make mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority’.

For the past 70 years, many campaigns and charities have been created so people take mental health issues more seriously. Suicide is the greatest cause of death amongst young men age 15-44. It is important that people know that there is help available whenever they may need it. There is also many resources and online training you can look at which will help educate you on how to detect the signs someone may be struggling.

There are many resources which can be accessed online to help you learn about the impact mental health issues can have to our day to day lives. It is important to remember that you are not alone and there are people always available for you to talk to. This is just one of many videos on the Mind charity website which you can watch. Their campaign for this years mental health day is ‘If this speaks to you, speak us’. There are a number of videos on their website that help bring up difficult conversations as well as offer support if you relate to them.
