Happy International Women’s Day 2023
Happy International women’s day! This year we are celebrating it on the 8th of March. This year’s theme is #EmbraceEquity.
It is critical to understand the difference between Equity and Equality. The two words are used interchangeably, however, they are not the same.
Equality means each individual or group of people are given the same resources or opportunities.
Equity recognises that each person has different circumstances, and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome.
The aim for this year is to get people talking about ‘why equal opportunities aren’t enough’.
We want to embrace equity and educate everyone on its meaning and how it can help. To have an inclusive world we need equity.

We can all take part in celebrating this day no matter how much we do. The most important this is to educate yourself and others about what progress needs to be made.
